So i practiced my fabrication skills once again today.. Yes there is still more to do.... haha

Mostly exhaust stuff

Made an exhaust hanger for the muffler. The plate also doubles as my e-brake line holder thingy.

Dont nit pick about the welds. I'm welding quarter inch steel with a little miller 90. Its not a super structural piece so whatever..

Here it is mounted on the car

Another angle.

I like this one.

Almost there!!

YEAHH!!! GREAT SUCCESS!!

Wahoo! Now just gotta get the whole welded. It's just tacked.

can we get a horizontal pic of it to see how the muffler and pipes sit relative to the frame rails?

like if your car was super low that wouldn't work, right?

Yup I'll take one when i get home from work this morning (I work nights). It actually doesn't hang down very low at all if i remember correctly. I'll be able to lower it. If i'm right only the muffler hangs down below the frame rail a little bit. The pipes are basically flush with the frame rails. The headers do stick down quite a bit tho.. at least the flanges on them but thats my own fault when i made them.

The exhaust is in two sections. Headers, then everything else is all one piece. I'm taking it off the car tomorrow to weld it up. I'll put up a pic of it off the car also.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I like knowing what you guys think of it. Keep em coming.

ok. so I have solved all running problems.

I found two bad injectors. Number one and number two cylinders. I happened to have two brand new injectors from the other engine i got out of the q45 i bought. replaced them and decided to set the cas back to the center since that is where is is supposed to be.

This thing SCREAMS. Took it through the lowry tunnel with Carl. Holy shit balls you guys. This thing has its own sound. Nothing sounds like it.

It LOVES to be sideways. A flick of the throttle is all that is needed. TONS of torque. But holy shit is it hard to steer with no power steering. I need a remote mounted electric unit asap.. like one from the gen 2 mr2's.

Anyways. I'll video a highway run or a sound clip or something. It sounds WAY better than the first video i gave you guys. The exhaust does wonders.

I'm so god damn happy. Drove it 90 miles today and no overheating problems.

Just curious, not sure if you covered this. But can you do a short run-down of parts w/ prices, or just a rough guess how much the Complete swap ended up costing?

you can buy a swap kit from Mazworx now with headers for about $2300 depending on what options you are going with. then you will need a 300zx tranny, clutch, flywheel, and starter, a radiator, fan, etc. If you get brand name stuff the swap shouldn't cost more that $5500-6000. for a motor, get a 94-95 q45 VH45DE. The heads flow better and have the upgraded timing chain guides.

the car drives freakin sweet! it's probably down on power a bit as we never got the timing set 100% but even so it's super torquey and has a ton of top end. time for coilovers!!

Ya. I cant get the timing right on. But it is super torquey! Gets the ass end out NO problem at all. the plug on my tps sensor likes to slip off every once in a while. So i've got it zip-tied for the time being. Along with a bunch of other shit haha. Coilovers are definitely needed asap. Someone buy my integra!!

it sounds AMAZING! it sounds like nothing both badass power. its kinda funny to see a 240 but hear a v8 rumble. the exhaust is pretty sick too. i like how it looks. once you get some clean wheels and put a slammin on the suspension its going to be nuts.

haha i'll try to get one up soon guys. Gotta get it drivable again...

So yeah, my alternator went out on my way to school. So 300 miles from my destination i was running on battery alone.... Had to keep switching batteries between our van and my car to try and make it. Well one of the batteries took a crap on us so i had to leave it at some random restaurant haha. Bought a new battery the next day and barely made it to my house in rapid city. So i ordered a new alternator and it wont be here till wed..

SHITTY.

It sucked ass so much. the car sounded wierd. and when it started to get low it would bog really bad. I ran it to low once and it was slower than a toyota tercel. Couldn't even make it up a miniature hill. It was BAD. But i get my new alternator today! And someone might buy my integra soon so the street carnage can begin once again! There are a couple of old school corvettes that live like a block away from my new baller house mrgreen hehe

Ok, so it’s been a while since I’ve updated this thing.

So what I’ve been up to?

Finally timed the car.
Replaced a bunch of hoses that were cracking and shit.
Replaced the clutch slave cylinder AGAIN as it was leaking from the piston (bought a while ago and it only lasted like a month..

vv Installed one of these so I can tell when to shift.

Bought a shit ton of tires and went to an event on stock blown suspension.. I sucked.

Small tight auto-x courses >> no powersteering.

Then I got some of these.

And borrowed some wheels from a buddy while his car is outta commission. And did some more…

Then we took some pictures!

And a video of the sound this thing makes.
